Hello friends,
It’s been quite some time since I joined Medium. A few days back as I was browsing the stories on Medium, and I came across this story-
And that prompted me to write this piece about myself. Well, to begin with, let me introduce myself-
I am a self-employed medical professional- a General Medical Practitioner. I live in Navi Mumbai, India.
I have been in medical practice since early 1984. I graduated as an MBBS[ in our country, MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery] from Dr. Vaishampayan Memorial Medical College, Solapur, Maharashtra,India.
As a part of the internship program, first I was posted in a Rural Health centre for 6 months where I learned how to care for patients at a rural set-up. Later on, I was posted in an Urban Healthcare centre, where I worked as an intern in BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai.
After completing my internship I had a stint as a resident medical officer[RMO] in Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery department for 6 months and one and half month in Chest and Tuberculosis Department. Both these stints gave me enough knowledge and confidence to embark on my journey of General Medical Practice.
To date, I have completed 37 years of serving patients. I have also been actively practicing during the recent pandemic. Even though I suffered from Covid-19- with God Almighty’s grace I survived- I continued practicing and am still actively pursuing my passion as a doctor.
In December 2018, I took to blogging and I created a blog called Dr.K.P.V.Rao's Health Blogs. In this blog, I write about medical conditions in aa easy to understand language and help people to overcome fear of those ailments.
Now coming to my other writing passion. In December 2020 I wrote a story on Medium-
This was one of my early articles. Though I love to write stories about medical conditions, I like to write many other interesting stories that I have come across in my life. In due course, I will publish them and I sincerely hope you will love these stories.
One more thing I would like to mention here- I sincerely thank the Editors of Medium for giving me an opportunity to write on their platform, which I believe is one of the best platforms to express yourself wholeheartedly.
